Without a profitable way to effectively recycle block foam, many recyclers have stayed away from offering any service of recycling polystyrene, also known as “styrofoam”. Though, it’s not financially self-sustaining, the need to keep polystyrene foam out of the landfill and have a program exist in the county to efficiently handle the recycling of this plastic has been expressed by a majority of the residents. Earth Friendly Recycling’s foam recycling program, Foam Home, will service all of Clark County’s residents.
Unfortunately, at this time, there is no subsidized funding available to support this program.
Residents have overwhelmingly expressed support to fund our own recycling program. Funding for our program supports the shredding and densification equipment, space, maintenance and operation along with material handling, storage, and transport.
